LAKE SAINT-FRANÇOIS NAUTICAL STATION

The Lake Saint-François Nautical Station is the entryway to Quebec when coming from Ontario and the U.S. through the Saint-Lawrence Seaway. Located close to Montreal and at the heart of the Suroît region, this unique area in Quebec has played a significant historical role in the development of Upper and Lower Canada with the creation of canals connecting the two regions. Lake Saint-François, the St-Lawrence River, damns and canals all contributed to make this territory the gateway to the interior of the continent.

Apart from the clear waters of its lake, the region is also known for its natural, historical and leisure attractions. Unique cycling paths networks close to the water, the richness of the land and great historical circuits are some of the great features of this region surrounding lake Saint-François. It is also what makes it a prime boating destination.
Boating activities and nautical tourism are at the forefront of this region’s attractions, offering boaters and visitors many services and facilities such as:

  • Marina Valleyfield (with a 4 Anchors Rating)
