Boating Safety

One of the main activities the QMA focuses on is making sure that boaters and water sport participants know how important it is to wear life jackets, and thanks to their partnerships with Transport Canada and the Lifesaving Society, the association is proud to promote boating safety in Quebec. In 2013 it began a 3-year campaign aiming to inform people on the various safety measures for each water sport and activity.

This campaign consists of :

• Producing short videos concerning the main points on boat safety

• Supporting the importance of wearing individual flotation devices by setting up kiosks at the Montreal Boat and Water Sports Show and the In-Water Boat Show.

• Distributing pamphlets during events out of Quebec

The QMA also takes advantage of its seat on multiple consulting committees related to boating and the nautical industry to share the importance of safe boating.

Within this program, the association has also taken upon itself sharing its studies to better understand the habits of boaters when it comes to boating safety.
